It's Friday, and though I expected to have my computer back by now, it's still in the shop. It turns out that the motherboard was fried and I was given the option of ordering another one and waiting through that, or going down to Fry's and getting a better one that was on sale, along with a few other parts, and building a Frankenputer from my old machine and the new parts. As a result, the earliest I'll be able to get it back will be on Monday. At that point, I'll catch up on recaps, writing as much of it as I can, and then get to work on the POTM for ITP (that's for Joe and Jason, if you guys are reading).

Thanks for your patience through this whole mess.

I'm logging in via a library computer. Early Tuesday morning, my computer locked up, and when I tried to restart it, I couldn't get an image on the monitor and it wouldn't fully power up. I took it into the shop and they're taking a look at it, and they'll be upgrading the RAM while they're at it.

Point is, I won't be able to post recaps or interact on the boards until Thursday at the absolute earliest, with Friday as a somewhat more likely possibility. In the meantime, you can probably get some minor league recaps at Leone For Third. Myself, I'll try to get them up once I get my computer back.

This sort of presents a problem so far as Arizona League recaps go, so if one of you out there wouldn't mind getting me a copy of the box scores until further notice, I'd appreciate it.

Tacoma 9, Portland 8 (SD)
RHP Cha Seung Baek (4.21) started this one and went six innings, allowing four runs on eight hits (HR) and two walks against four strikeouts. RHP Jared Hoerman (5.37, W) pitched the next inning, giving up two runs on a hit (HR) and a walk, while RHP Bill Simas (5.79) had the same results over an inning and two-thirds, plus a couple of strikeouts. RHP Tony Runion (1.17, S) got the final strikeout, and thus, the save. For the offense, 2B Mickey Lopez (2 R, .294), DH Ryan Christianson (HR, 4 RBI, .265), and 3B Greg Dobbs (HR, 3 RBI, .290) had two hits each. RHP Gustavo Martinez tomorrow.

San Antonio 4, Tulsa 3 (COL)
RHP Rich Dorman (3.69, W) gave up all three of the runs over five innings, with four hits (HR), a wild pitch, and four walks against seven strikeouts. LHP Jared Thomas (3.29) went next, pitching two and a third innings where he walked one and struck out two. The rest of the game went to RHP Rick Guttormson (3.30, S), who gave up a hit, threw a wild pitch, let a runner reach via the walk, and punched out two. 3B Hunter Brown (HR, 2 RBI, .285), DH Shin-Soo Choo (R, SB, CS, .309), and SS Eddie Menchaca (2B, R, .221) all had two hits apiece, while CF Dustin Delucchi (2B, R, .281) had a double and two walks from the leadoff spot. RHP Juan Done on Tuesday?

Wisconsin 1, Quad Cities 2 (MIN)
The T-Rats have lost five in a row. RHP Bryan Stitt (4.07, L) pitched well enough to win, going six and two-thirds innings and allowing just one earned run over seven hits, a hit batter, two wild pitches, and two walks with six strikeouts. LHP Michael Ciccotelli (3.38) would finish up that inning, then RHP Austin Bilke (3.80) pitched the eighth, giving up one hit. RF Chris Colton (2B, .244) and C Justin Ruchti (2B, RBI, .223) both doubled. RHP Brandon Moorhead tomorrow.

Boise 8 (CHC), Everett 4
RHP Jason Snyder (2.59) had another fine start, going seven innings without an earned run, six hits, a hit batter, a wild pitch, and six strikeouts. But unfortunately, the usually solid RHP Terry Forbes (4.00, E, L) ran into some trouble after finding himself unable to get an out in the ninth. Overall, he gave up four earned runs on four hits and a walk. RHP Roman Martinez (0.00) had one of those runs score on his watch after two hits, though he struck out the side. 3B Brent Johnson (2 R, .311) and SS Asdrubal Cabrera (2B, RBI, CS, 2 E, .281) both had two hits, though Johnson also walked twice. RHP Aaron Trolia tomorrow.

Peoria Mariners 7, Arizona Rangers 8
LHP Paul Fagan (5.63, E) was hit hard again, this time going only four innings and allowing seven runs on seven hits, a hit batter, a wild pitch, and four walks against five strikeouts. Five of those runs came when he couldn’t get an out in the fifth. RHP Tim Dorn (5.50) went the next two innings, giving up a hit and a walk while striking out a batter. Unfortunately, the first run RHP Craig James (0.79, L) allowed this year ended up costing him the game, with three hits (HR) and four strikeouts overall. 1B Luis Soto (R, .326) had another 4-4 night, though surprisingly without any extra-base hits. Instead, those went to RF John-Austin Emmons (2B, R, .327), DH Jeff Flaig (2B, R, RBI, .247), CF David Hall (2B, R, 2 RBI, .293), and LF Jermaine Brock (3B, R, .231). 2B Jack Arroyo (R, RBI, SB, .313) also contributed another two hits.

In draft-related news, the PI is reporting that the Mariners have (finally) signed 12th rounder Steve Uhlmansiek.

Tacoma 1, Portland 0 (SD)
Indie leaguers do it better. Well, sometimes at least, RHP Jeff Harris (4.95) went seven innings and gave up just four hits and a walk with two strikeouts. I didn’t expect to be praising him a month earlier, but hey, here we are, and Tacoma’s in first place despite patchwork pitching. LHP Tim Christman (4.32) went next and gave up a hit and a walk, then RHP Tony Runion (1.23, S) gave up two hits, but preserved the win in the ninth. 2B Mickey Lopez (2B, .293) had a double, but for the record, it was the combo of LF Jim Horner (R, .204) and SS Michael Collins (RBI, .240) that produced the game’s only run.

Tacoma 6, Portland 13 (SD)
I guess they were overdue. LHP Travis Blackley (3.61, L) got pulled after the first inning, allowing two runs on four hits (HR) and a walk with a strikeout, rain delay and whatnot. RHP John Kelly (8.64) went next, giving up six runs on eight hits with three strikeouts after three and a third innings. Credit two of those runs to LHP Randy Williams (3.52), because even without the passed ball, he probably would have let them score. Williams went an inning and two-thirds, with six runs (HR) and two walks against two strikeouts turning into four runs. RHP Bill Simas (3.00) allowed a run on two hits in the last two innings. 1B A.J. Zapp (R, .296) had two hits, but was one of the few not to show a little power, oddly enough. C Jim Horner (HR, 2 RBI, PB, .206) and 3B Greg Dobbs (HR, .286) both homered, while 2B Mickey Lopez (2B, R, .292) and DH Ryan Christianson (2B, R, 2 RBI, .255) doubled. CF Jeremy Reed (R, SB, .311) also was 1-2 with a couple of walks. RHP Cha Seung Baek tomorrow.

San Antonio 12, Tulsa 3 (COL)
LHP Chris Key (4.28, W) was solid again, going six innings without and earned run, three hits, a walk, and two strikeouts overall. RHP Aaron Taylor (2.87) went the next two frames, with two hits, a walk, and three strikeouts to show for it. Once his velocity comes back, we can hope he’ll become a bullpen fixture for next year. RHP Renee Cortez (4.80), who used to be one of my favorites, continues to struggle, pitching the ninth and allowing two runs on two hits (HR) and a walk. The offense went on a rampage, with DH Dustin Delucchi (2 RBI, .278) and 2B Rob Gandolfo (2 R, 2 RBI, .278) collecting three hits, Delucchi walking twice and Gandolfo walking once. Five others had two hits; 3B Hunter Brown (R, RBI, .285), RF Shin-Soo Choo (2 R, RBI, .310), CF T.J. Bohn (HR, 2 R, .259), C Brian Moon (2 R, 2 RBI, .157), and LF Jaime Bubela (2B, R, RBI, .214).

San Antonio 0, Tulsa 8 (COL)
RHP Chris Buglovsky (3.65, L) didn’t pitch too well, going six innings with four earned runs on nine hits (HR), a hit batter, a wild pitch, and a walk against six strikeouts, but the offense and defense didn’t exactly come through either. Back in Double-A, RHP T.A. Fulmer (5.83) was next, going two innings and allowing a run on three hits while striking out two. LF Dustin Delucchi (2B, .281) had two hits and a walk, and CF T.J. Bohn (2B, .260) doubled before being pulled for CF Rich Rodrigues (.000). Pitching’s still a mess, I don’t know who goes tomorrow.

Inland Empire 5, Modesto 6 (OAK)
LHP Troy Cate (2.61) went five innings and allowed three runs after six hits (HR) and walk with five strikeouts. RHP Darwin Soto (3.27) struggled a little next, getting through three frames and allowing two runs on two hits, a balk, and three walks against three strikeouts. LHP Cesar Jimenez (2.44) would allow an unearned run on a hit and a walk with four strikeouts in the last two and a third innings. Guess where the error came from? 3B Jesus Guzman (2B, RBI, .300) briefly got back to .300 with another four hits, while CF Gary Harris (RBI, SB, .280), DH Matt Rogelstad (2B, R, SB, .246), and C Brian Lentz (2 R, .270) contributed two each. Fans of LF Josh Ellison (R, SB, .382) will note that he was 1-3 with a couple of walks.

Inland Empire 0, Modesto 5 (OAK)
LHP Bobby Livingston (3.49, L) went another seven innings, with three runs on eight hits and a walk against four strikeouts. LHP Melvin Pizarro (4.21) would give up two runs on three hits in the eighth. 2B Juan Gonzalez (.299), RF Carlos Arroyo (.321), and DH Josh Ellison (.386) had two hits apiece, but as you can tell, nothing to show for it. LHP Thom Oldham Tuesday.

Wisconsin 0, Quad Cities 1 (MIN)
Further east, the T-Rats still play terribly. The offense was the culprit this time around, as LHP Ryan Feierabend (3.83, E, L) went seven innings and allowed one run on five hits with two strikeouts, but has nothing but an “L” to show for it. RHP Matt Tindell (0.00) struck out a batter in the eighth. For you Rich Dorman fans out there, Tindell is a former catcher too. 1B Jeremy Dutton (2 2B, .208) was 2-2 with two walks, who would’ve guessed? LF Bryan Lahair (2B, .296) also doubled, but that’s less surprising, this year at least.

Wisconsin 3, Quad Cities 8 (MIN)
RHP Nibaldo Acosta (4.13, L) also ran into some defensive troubles, with five and a third innings pitched and three earned runs on ten hits against three punchouts. LHP Michael Ciccotelli (3.60) had two hits and an unearned run while finishing up that inning. LHP Casey Abrams (10.59) had a perfect seventh, and RHP Mike Hrynio (3.62) did the same, plus a strikeout, in the ninth. RF Chris Colton (2B, R, RBI, SB, E, .243) and SS Adam Jones (E, .263) both had two hits on the day. RHP Bryan Stitt tomorrow, and that’s become a good thing of late.

Salem-Keizer 3 (SF), Everett 6
Quite the opposite of Wisconsin, the Aquasox are still on a rampage. RHP Aaron Jensen (4.87) went six good innings, allowing two runs on six hits (HR) and four walks with three strikeouts. RHP Phil Cullen (2.00, E) went for the next four outs, allowing an unearned run after a hit and three walks plus a strikeout. RHP Terry Forbes (2.12, W) went the last inning and two-thirds, giving out one free pass and striking out another. I’d like to see Forbes get a starting audition in Wisconsin next year, if possible. LF Casey Craig (R, RBI, 2 SB, .291) and DH Matt Tuiasosopo (2 RBI, 2 SB, .311) both had two hits and two stolen bases, while 2B Oswaldo Navarro (2B, R, .263) doubled and 3B Brent Johnson (R, RBI, .309) was 0-1 with two walks. For more on this particular game, check out the U.S.S. Mariner entry.

Salem-Keizer 1 (SF), Everett 2
RHP Mumba Rivera (3.40, E) had an odd outing, giving up a hit, hitting three batters, balking, throwing two wild pitches, and allowing five walks, but somehow all that only turned into one run and he struck out seven as he went. RHP Cibney Bello (4.50) went the next two and a third innings, and he seems to be settling down, giving up just a hit and a walk while striking out one. RHP Mark Lowe (5.29, W) had similar results in his two innings, and the same could probably be said for him. 2B Oswaldo Navarro (2B, R, .268) was the only one with two hits, and he ended up scoring the winning run in the eleventh. Meanwhile, DH Matt Tuiasosopo (2B, R, .308) and C Brian Schweiger (2B, .310) both had doubles, Schweiger walking twice in addition to that. RHP Jason Snyder tomorrow.

Peoria Padres 5, Peoria Mariners 2 (ten innings)
RHP Joe Woerman (5.32) hit two batters and struck out eight over six innings. I don’t even have a comment for something like that. RHP Tim Dorn (6.19) went the next two innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits while striking out one. RHP Donald Clement (4.45, L) would give up the lead, and eventually, the game, after two innings where he allowed four runs on three hits, a hit batter, and two walks. The offense was a little weak last night, as 2B/3B Jack Arroyo (2B, RBI, .306) was the only one to do something significant.

Peoria Mariners 1, Mesa Angels 6
RHP Jon Lockwood (7.68, L) is still struggling, going four innings and allowing five earned runs on six hits, two wild pitches, and three walks against three strikeouts. RHP Stephen Grasley (3.70) came next, going two innings, allowing one hit, and striking out two. Known as a bit of a control pitcher in his Creighton days, Grasley has thirty-one Ks to one walk. RHP Ryan Leaist (3.18) pitched the last two innings, allowing two hits and striking out five. Again, the offense wasn’t really running tonight, so I’ll note DH Rob Johnson (R, .200) going 0-1 with two walks. LHP Paul Fagan tomorrow.

Tacoma Rainiers: 72-54, .571, 1st in PCL North
San Antonio Missions: 58-66, (28-26, 2nd half) .468 (.519), 2.5 GB in TL West
Inland Empire 66ers: 70-57 (31-26), .551 (.544), 4 GB CAL South
Wisconsin Timber Rattlers: 55-69 (24-32), .444 (.429), 9 GB in MWL Western
Everett Aquasox: 37-25, .597, 1st in NWL West
Peoria Mariners: 28-22 (12-10), .560 (.545), 2 GB in AZL
