Tacoma 3, Oklahoma 11 (TEX)
Well, LHP Travis Blackley (3.25, L) wasn’t exactly welcomed back to the PCL, but neither was Nageotte the first time around. Blackley gave up eight runs on eight hits (4 HR, continuing his recent homer-happy trend) and five walks while striking out three over five and two-thirds innings. RHP Jared Hoerman (6.02) finished up the game after that, giving up one of Blackley’s runs and two earned of his own on five hits and two walks with a strikeout. The offense had two-hit performances from LF Luis Ugueto (2B, R, E, .263), RF Hiram Bocachica (.295), C Pat Borders (RBI, .288), and 1B A.J. Zapp (2B, R, .286), which would be pretty good except for the fact that the team grounded into six double plays, two by Reed, two by Christianson, one by Dobbs, and one by Santiago. RHP Gustavo Martinez tomorrow.

San Antonio 0, Round Rock 1
A heartbreaker if there ever was one. RHP Chris Buglovsky (3.22, L) went eight shutout innings, allowing four hits and two walks against six strikeouts. Unfortunately, a third walk came in the top of the ninth, after which Bugs was pulled and LHP Chris Key (4.38) got a sac bunt before an error scored the winning run. To make matters worse, the Missions were two-hit, the only notable offense coming from RF Shin-Soo Choo (.308), who just had a single and a walk. RHP Juan Done tomorrow.

Visalia 2 (COL), Inland Empire 16
I’m going to tell you right now to ignore this box score. I’m quite serious. According to the San Bernadino Sun, a number of things are wrong in this box score, so until it’s changed or I get back-up info from BA or whomever, this is all that I know. Felix DID NOT start, instead, it was LHP Thom Oldham (1.69, W) who took the mound, going five innings and allowing two unearned runs on six hits, a wild pitch, and three walks against eight strikeouts. Oddly enough, former Sixer and Mariners’ farmhand Enmanuel Ulloa, who was traded to the Expos a while ago, released, then signed recently from independent Long Island, opposed him on the mound. Second major note from the box score, T.J. Bohn DID NOT pitch the next three innings, unless he was launching balls from San Antonio where he was DHing at the time, and I’m pretty sure that such a feat would result in any number of balks regardless. On the contrary, Mystery Man #1 (0.00) went three innings and allowed four hits while striking out two. LHP Cesar Jimenez (2.55) pitched through the ninth and had a strikeout. As for the offense, Bohn wasn’t playing shortstop either, and rather it was SS Erick Monzon (4 R, RBI, .368) who tore through Visalia pitching to the tune of five hits. CF Gary Harris (2 2B, 3 R, RBI, .276) and LF Jon Nelson (2B, 3 R, 3 RBI, .305) both amassed four hits, while 1B Matt Rogelstad (R, 3 RBI, .247) had three. With the absence of LHP Ryan Rowland-Smith, tomorrow’s starter is unannounced.

Kane County 2 (OAK), Wisconsin 5
RHP Nibaldo Acosta (3.78, W) was stellar, going eight innings and allowing one run on five hits and three walks while striking out four. LHP Michael Ciccotelli (18.00) was used for one batter, which he walked and would later come around to score as an unearned run. It was RHP Chad Fillinger (2.25) who finished the game, allowing a hit and a wild pitch while striking out two. On offense, SS Adam Jones (HR, 2 RBI, SB, .273) and CF Michael Nesbit (2B, RBI, .308) had three hits apiece, while 2B Nick Orlandos (2B, R, .319) and DH Jeremy Dutton (2B, R, .192) had two each. RHP Bryan Stitt tomorrow.

Everett’s game was cancelled due to weather.

Arizona Royals 4, Peoria Mariners 7
RHP Eric Carter (3.69, W) went the first five innings and gave up an earned run on four hits and six walks against six strikeouts to pick up his first win. RHP Tyrone Lamont (3.96) gave up another earned run over the next three innings on three hits with three strikeouts. RHP Matt Tindell (0.00) had a strikeout in the ninth. Rehabbing CF Vince Faison (2 R, 1.000) was 2-2 before being pulled for CF Jermain Brock (3B, R, .282), who was 1-2. 2B Jack Arroyo (R, RBI, SB, .269) and LF Chris Snelling (3B, 2 R, 2 RBI, .353) also had two hits, while C Danny Santin (3B, 2 RBI, .348) decided to jump on the triple bandwagon with everyone else.

Tacoma 4, Oklahoma 6 (TEX)
LHP Bill Pulsipher (4.50, L) made his debut and went six innings, giving up three runs on nine hits and couple of walks against three strikeouts. After that, LHP Tim Chrisman (4.38) went the next two innings and gave up two runs on three hits with three strikeouts. C Pat Borders (HR, .276) was the only one to do significant damage, though it was only in one of his three hits. Otherwise, 3B Greg Dobbs (2B, R, 2 E, .306) had a double to offset his two errors and PH Ryan Christianson (R, .256) singled and scored in his only at-bat. RHP Gustavo Martinez tomorrow.

San Antonio 2, Round Rock 1 (HOU)
RHP Rich Dorman (3.69, W) took on the Express today, going seven innings and allowing a run on two hits, a balk, and three walks, while striking out ten. RHP Aaron Taylor (2.70) went the next inning, walking a batter, and then RHP Rick Guttormson (3.73, S) picked up the save in the ninth. On offense, SS Michael Morse (HR, 2 RBI, .286) had a two-run bomb, and that’s all you really need to know. Between the rainouts and everything else, I still don’t fully have an idea of who will go tomorrow.

Inland Empire 2, Rancho Cucamonga 11 (ANA)
RHP T.A. Fulmer (5.16, L) faltered while LHP Justin Dowdy took a number of his former teammates to school, striking out ten total. As for Fulmer, he gave up five runs in five innings on nine hits (HR) and a walk against five strikeouts. LHP Troy Cate (3.00) went next and gave up two earned runs on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts over the couple of innings that followed. LHP Melvin Pizarro (3.25) ran into some trouble in the eighth, allowing three runs on three hits (HR) and three walks against only one strikeout in two-thirds of an inning, then RHP Mike Steele (8.18) got the final out. The offense was basically CF Gary Harris (3B, RBI, .268) and RF Carlos Arroyo (SB, .310) with two hits each.

Inland Empire 13, Rancho Cucamonga 9 (ANA)
LHP Bobby Livingston (3.63, E, W) went six and two-thirds innings, giving up three earned runs on twelve hits (2 HR!) and wild pitch against four strikeouts. RHP Darwin Soto (3.73, S) went the final two and a third innings, and allowed an earned run on three hits. As for the offense, everyone in the lineup had two+ hits tonight. Seriously. LF Jon Nelson (2B, HR, 4 R, 3 RBI, CS, .298), RF Carlos Arroyo (R, RBI, .314), and C Rene Rivera (2 2B, R, 3 RBI, .265) had three, while the rest… CF Gary Harris (2 R, RBI, SB, CS, .270), SS Erick Monzon (R, RBI, SB, .329), 3B Jesus Guzman (R, 4 RBI, SB, E, .303), 1B Matt Hagen (R, RBI, E, .219), DH Matt Rogelstad (R, RBI, SB, .240), and 2B Michael Garciaparra (2B, 2 R, 2 CS, .199), all had two each. LHP Thom Oldham tomorrow.

Clinton 1 (TEX), Wisconsin 2
RHP Brandon Moorhead (3.38, W) went seven innings and gave up a run on five hits and a walk, striking out another ten. LHP Casey Abrams (8.85, E) gave up a hit in his two-thirds of an inning then RHP Chad Fillinger (3.00) finished that up with a strikeout. RHP Mike Hrynio (4.01, S) got the save in the ninth, one hit, one strikeout. SS George Sandel (2B, R, E, .283) and DH Adam Jones (2 RBI, .268) both had two hits.

Kane County 3 (OAK), Wisconsin 6
LHP Jason Mackintosh (3.05, W) got the win after seven innings where he gave up an earned run on five hits (HR) and a walk against nine strikeouts. RHP Austin Bilke (5.93, S) went the last two with a walk to pick up the save. 1B Bryan Lahair (2B, 2 R, E, .329), 3B Chris Collins (2B, R, 2 RBI, E, .255), RF Chris Colton (R, RBI, .247) all had two hits, but aside from a meaningless double by C Justin Ruchti (2B, .206), nothing else happened. RHP Nibaldo Acosta tomorrow.

Eugene 7 (SD), Everett 2
RHP Aaron Jensen (5.36, L) only got through four and third innings, giving up six runs on seven hits and a walk against a couple of strikeouts. RHP Terry Forbes (1.86) gave up two of Jensen’s runs, and an unearned of his own, as he finished up the game with five hits, a balk, a walk, and two strikeouts. CF Mike Wilson (2B, 2 R, SB, .272), DH Matt Tuiasosospo (2 RBI, .500), making his Aquasox debut, and 3B Brent Johnson (2B, .301) all had two hits, SS Oswaldo Navarro (2B, .263) had a double. LHP Kendall Bergdall tomorrow.

Arizona Brewers 3, Peoria Mariners 4
LHP Paul Fagan (3.38) went six innings, giving three runs on six hits and five walks while striking out seven. RHP Matt Tindell (0.00, W) made a one-inning debut, walking one and punching out two, before passing the ball to LHP Adam Brandt (4.32, S) for the final two innings, where he gave up two hits and K’d three. 2B Jack Arroyo (HR, 2 RBI, .500), RF Reynaldo Cruz (2B, R, SB, .338), and C Gregory Slee (2 RBI, .190) had two hits each and LF Chris Snelling (.250) was 1-4. RHP Eric Carter tomorrow.

Tacoma Rainiers: 61-48, .560, 1st in PCL North
San Antonio Missions: 52-57, (22-17, 2nd half) .477 (.564), 1st in TL West
Inland Empire 66ers: 61-50 (22-19), .550 (.537), 3.5 GB CAL South

The system had another perfect day, albeit abridged due to the lack of Everett game and San Antonio getting rained out.

Albuquerque 6 (FLA), Tacoma 11
RHP Cha Seung Baek (4.28) went only four and a third innings, allowing four runs on six hits, a wild pitch, and five walks against a couple of strikeouts. LHP Craig Anderson (6.07, W) would allow to of those runs and one of his own over the next three innings, three hits, two walks, and two strikeouts overall. Well, technically RHP Jeff Harris (5.61) gave up that run in the process of allowing one run of his own on two hits, a hit batter, and a walk, though he couldn’t record an out. LHP Randy Williams (3.10, S) decided that was enough and only walked a batter while striking batters for four of his five outs. 2B Luis Ugueto (3 2B, 1 R, 4 RBI, 2 SB, .258) did his Ichiro impression with five hits, plus a little power, and 3B Greg Dobbs (2B, R, CS, .308) had four hits. On the “less impressive” end of things, LF Elpidio Guzman (2B, 2 R, 3 RBI, .285) had three hits and DH Greg Jacobs (3 R, .308) was 2-3 with a couple of walks. Not certain who starts Thursday, but due to the off day, it may be RHP Gustavo Martinez.

Both San Antonio games were rained out again, and thus cancelled.

Inland Empire 10, Rancho Cucamonga 3 (ANA)
RHP Juan Sandoval (3.87, W), who definitely seems to be returning to some consistency, went seven innings and allowed a run on six hits (HR) and a walk against six strikeouts. RHP Tanner Watson (5.14) went the next inning, giving up a couple of runs on three hits and a wild pitch with two strikeouts, then RHP Darwin Soto (3.72) took over in the ninth, allowed a hit, and punched out two. 3B Jesus Guzman (HR, 3 R, 2 RBI, .301) caught the hitting bug as well and added four hits to the mix, while DH Juan Gonzalez (2 R, SB, .302), RF Carlos Arroyo (R, 2 RBI, .307), and SS Erick Monzon (2B, .344) had two each. CF Gary Harris (2B, 3 RBI, .266) and LF Jon Nelson (3B, R, RBI, .298) had significant impacts with their hits as well. RHP T.A. Fulmer goes tomorrow against former M’s prospect LHP Justin Dowdy.

Clinton 7 (TEX), Wisconsin 8
LHP Ryan Feierabend (4.01) didn’t do so well, technically, going five innings and allowing an earned run on five hits, a hit batter, three wild pitches, and a walk against a strikeout. RHP Brad Rose (13.50) had his usual thing of going an inning and two-thirds and giving up three runs on four hits, a wild pitch, and a walk with one strikeout. LHP Casey Abrams (9.15, W) would give up a run on two hits with a strikeout over the next four outs to pick up the win, then RHP Mike Hrynio (4.10) closed the door with a hit, a wild pitch, and two strikeouts. CF/LF Josh Womack (HR, .266) and LF/1B Bryan Lahair (R, .326) had three hits, while RF Chris Colton (2B, R, RBI, .246) was 1-3 with a walk. However, the real damage was done by 2B Michael Cox (HR, 4 RBI, .238), who had a grand slam during a seven-run uprising in the ninth. RHP Brandon Moorhead tomorrow.

Peoria Mariners 7, Arizona Rangers 1
I’m still trying to track down a box score for August 2nd, but in the meantime, RHP Jon Lockwood (7.50, W) had a fine start, going five innings and allowing a run on three hits (HR), a walk, and four strikeouts. RHP Ramon Martinez (6.41) went the next three frames, allowing three hits and striking out a batter, then RHP Ryan Leaist (6.75) had a perfect ninth. On offense, CF Jermaine Brock (2 R, 2 SB, .276) had three hits, while DH Matt Tuiasosopo (R, RBI, .412) and 1B Luis Soto (R, .361) had two hits. LF Chris Snelling (.300) was 1-4 after being hit by a pitch. LHP Paul Fagan (now listed as Paul in the BA databases) starts tomorrow.

But odds are more likely than not that I’m going to be out of town tomorrow, so I’ll catch up on that box score and others on Thursday. Luckily, only Inland Empire, Wisconsin, and Peoria are scheduled to play. I should be home early enough on Thursday to get the box score for Peoria copied down.

Tacoma Rainiers: 61-47, .565, 1st in PCL North
San Antonio Missions: 51-57, (21-17, 2nd half) .472 (.553), 1st in TL West
Inland Empire 66ers: 60-49 (21-18), .550 (.538), 3.5 GB CAL South
Wisconsin Timber Rattlers: 48-59 (17-21), .449 (.447), 9 GB in MWL Western
Everett Aquasox: 25-20, .556, 1st in NWL West
Peoria Mariners: 20-15 (4-3), .556 (.571), 2GB in AZL
Seattle Mariners (VSL Aguirre): 29-26-1, .527 3 GB in VSL Valencia
Seattle Mariners (DSL Santo Domingo): 37-12, .769, 1st in Santo Domingo Norte

Albuquerque 5 (FLA), Tacoma 8
LHP Bryan Ward (5.40) made his system debut and went six and two-thirds innings, giving up four earned runs on eight hits (HR) and two walks against six strikeouts. LHP Tim Christman (3.97, W) would pick up the in his relief appearance for the rest of the way, walking one and striking out five of the eight batters he faced. As for the batters, 2B Mickey Lopez (R, 2 SB, E, .282), CF Jeremy Reed (2 RBI, .295), RF Hiram Bocachica (2 HR, 3 R, E, .298), C Pat Borders (HR, 2 RBI, .250), and 3B Greg Dobbs (2B, RBI, .291) all had two hits apiece, and DH Greg Jacobs (2B, R, RBI, .291) had another double.

Albuquerque 5 (FLA), Tacoma 6
RHP Rafael Soriano (2.45) only went two-thirds of an inning, giving up a hit and a walk while striking out a batter, though I think the agenda may have him pitching today as well. RHP Greg Wear (4.85), making the trek up from Inland Empire again, went the next four and two-thirds, allowing three earned runs on six hits (HR), a wild pitch, and three walks against five strikeouts. One of those runs was allowed by RHP Jared Hoerman (5.92, W), who went two innings with a hit, three walks, and two strikeouts, and in turn, he had his one run allowed by LHP Randy Williams (3.19, S), who gave up three hits over the last five outs. CF Jeremy Reed (HR, 3 RBI, .302) and RF Greg Jacobs (HR, 2 R, .301) both got their averages over .300 with a home run and a single each. 1B Hiram Bocachica (HR, .299) also jumped into the mix, but it seems like he was a single shy of reaching the same mark. RHP Cha Seung Baek today.

San Antonio 2, El Paso 7 (ARI)
LHP Phil Devey (4.75, L) had a rough outing, going through only four and a third innings and allowing seven runs on eight hits (2 HR!) and two walks against two strikeouts. RHP Renee Cortez (4.66) allowed one of those runs on a hit while striking out two in his inning and two-thirds. RHP Aaron Taylor (2.82) went the final two and had a hit, a walk, and a strikeout. I’m starting to wonder when he’ll be called up to Seattle. On offense, there was SS Michael Morse (.287) with two hits, and CF T.J. Bohn (.291) going 1-2 with a walk and a sacrifice. The Missions play a doubleheader today, with RHPs Felix Hernandez and Rich Dorman starting.

Stockton 4 (TEX), Inland Empire 6
LHP Thom Oldham (3.18, W) had a fine high-A debut, going five and two-thirds innings and allowing two earned runs on five hits (HR), a hit batter, and a walk against nine strikeouts. LHP Cesar Jimenez (2.59, S) would pick up the save in the final three and third, giving up a run on two hits and three walks as he struck out two. SS Erick Monzon (2 HR, 3 R, 3 RBI, SB, .327) had another impressive night, going 3-3 with a walk, while DH Jon Nelson (.300) and C Rene Rivera (2B, R, .239) had a couple of hits. 3B Jesus Guzman (HR, 2 RBI, .297) also had a homer.

Inland Empire 3, Rancho Cucamonga 8 (ANA)
LHP Ryan Rowland-Smith (3.82) was less than impressive in his three and a third innings, giving up three earned runs on seven hits (3 HR!!), a wild pitch, and a walk against four strikeouts. To compensate for this lackluster performance, RHP Jon Huber (0.00) absolutely dominated, going the final four and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits, and striking out ten. There were two hits each, without any power, from CF Gary Harris (2 CS, .267), SS Erick Monzon (RBI, .339), and LF Josh Ellison (.408). The power shots came from 1B Jon Nelson (2B, R, E, .300) and RF Carlos Arroyo (HR, E, .306). What the heck have they been feeding Arroyo lately? RHP Juan Sandoval starts today.

Wisconsin 4, Battle Creek 5 (NYY) (ten innings)
RHP Nibaldo Acosta (3.93, 2 E) had an okay start, going six and a third innings and allowing two earned runs on six hits (HR) and a walk against a couple of strikeouts. LHP Casey Abrams (9.33) would finish up that inning with a wild pitch and a strikeout, and then RHP Brad rose (13.09) also went two-thirds of an inning with a strikeout. LHP Michael Ciccotelli (0.00) made his T-Rats debut, going an inning and striking out a batter, but then the other recent addition, RHP Chad Fillinger (3.38), went two-thirds of an inning and gave up a run on two hits and two walks. 1B Bryan Lahair (2B, R, RBI, E, .320) had a double and C Chris Collins (RBI, .252) had two hits, but DH Adam Jones (2B, 2 R, RBI, .268) got the best of both worlds. For those wondering, Wladimir Balentien is gone and won’t be back until he’s done with the Olympics.

Clinton 6 (TEX), Wisconsin 4
Of possible rotation fillers, I don’t know that I necessarily expected RHP Bryan Stitt (4.53, L), though he does have experience there. Stitt went five and a third innings and gave up two runs on four hits with four strikeouts. RHP Austin Bilke (6.94) allowed one of Stitt’s runs and one of his own on two hits and two walks against four strikeouts over the next two and a third. LHP Michael Ciccotelli (18.00) ran into some trouble, giving up two runs on a hit (3B), a hit batter, and walk before being pulled, then RHP Kenly Chang (4.97) came in and gave up a run on a hit batter and three walks over the final four outs. 1B/C Chris Collins (RBI, .255), 3B Eric Blakeley (R, .303), and 2B Michael Cox (R, .238) had two hits each, and SS Adam Jones (2B, R, .267) had another double. LHP Ryan Feierabend today.

Everett 6, Boise 10 (CHC)
RHP Ruben Flores (4.78, L) actually wasn’t that bad, going seven innings and allowing four earned runs on eight hits (HR), a hit batter, a walk, and a strikeout, when LHP Vance Hall (6.75) pitched a perfect ninth. The reason they lost this one, however, was due to the complete and total collapse of RHP Aaron Trolia (10.50), who gave up five runs on five hits (HR) in just a third of an inning. LF Casey Craig (HR, 2 RBI, .304) had a two-run home run, and LF Trevor Heid (2B, RBI, .241) had a double.

Everett 5, Boise 6 (CHC)
LHP Shawn Nottingham (1.93) had another good start, giving up three earned runs on eight hits (HR), a hit batter, and two walks against three strikeouts. RHP Mumba Rivera (3,21, L) went the next two innings, and gave up an earned run on three hits, a hit batter, and two walks. RHP Aaron Trolia (10.50) stepped in, gave up a wild pitch, and that was pretty much the end of it. 1B Brandon Green (2B, 2 R, 2 RBI, .276) had a couple of hits, with SS Oswaldo Navarro (2B, .264), DH Thomas Hubbard (2B, RBI, .245), and LF Trevor Heid (2B, R, .241) flashing some additional power. 3B Brent Johnson (R, RBI, .295) went 0-1 with a couple of walks and a sac fly. Everett is on their All-Star Break until Thursday.

Peoria Padres 3, Peoria Mariners 4
RHP Oliver Arias (6.88, W) had a good start, going five innings and allowing an earned run on five hits and two walks against five strikeouts. RHP Tyrone Lamont (4.09) went the next two and two-thirds innings, giving up a run on three hits and wild pitch, then RHP Craig James (0.00, S) got the save after giving up two hits, a walk, and a strikeout over the last inning and a third. LF Francisco Gerez (R, RBI, E, .383) had three hits, while RF David Hall (2, R, RBI, .318) had two.

Peoria also tore apart the Mesa Angels yesterday, 16-4, but I dont' have a box score for that yet.

I was going to catch up with the VSL, but their site is down at the moment, so I’ll go a bit north and catch up with the Dominican Summer League, where the Santo Domingo M’s have gone 7-3 since last note. Ronald Garth (.299), Jairo Hernandez (.296), and Manelik Pimentel (.284) are four, five, and eight in the batting race, respectively. Hernandez is also second in runs scored with twenty-five, with Leury Bonilla at number five with twenty-three, and is also fifth in hits at forty-six and second in stolen bases with eighteen. For the pitching, Jael Luna and Sterling Soto are 6-0 and 5-0, respectively, with Eddy Fernandez at 5-1. Fernandez and Soto are also second and fifth in ERA at 1.09 and 1.76, while Luna and Carlos Colon are second and fourth in strikeouts with sixty-one and fifty-two. I think that a number of these guys could probably make the jump to the US next season.

Tacoma Rainiers: 60-47, .561, 1st in PCL North
San Antonio Missions: 51-57, (21-17, 2nd half) .472 (.553), 1st in TL West
Inland Empire 66ers: 59-49 (20-18), .546 (.526), 3.5 GB CAL South
Wisconsin Timber Rattlers: 47-59 (16-21), .443 (.432), 10 GB in MWL Western
Everett Aquasox: 25-20, .556, 1st in NWL West
Peoria Mariners: 18-15 (2-3), .545 (.400), 2.5 GB in AZL
Seattle Mariners (VSL Aguirre): 29-26-1, .527 3 GB in VSL Valencia

Transaction Update:

This will be an informal update, but LHP Thom Oldham has been promoted from Wisconsin to Inland Empire and is scheduled to start tonight. To accomodate this move, LHP Michael Ciccotelli was moved down to Wisconsin. I don't know who starts for the T-Rats today.

Also, if you haven't already caught it, RHP Clint Nageotte has been promoted to Seattle and LHP Travis Blackley has been sent down to Tacoma. It only makes sense, considering the recent performances of both.

Every team in the system got a win today and the M’s are one loss closer to a higher pick… trying to look on the bright side here.

Albuquerque 4 (FLA), Tacoma 8
RHP Gustavo Martinez (4.46, W) started and went five innings, giving up four runs (all in the first) on six hits (HR) and six walks against four strikeouts. RHP Jeff Harris (5.40, S) went the last four innings, throwing a wild pitch and striking out six. One of those swingin strike three/wild pitches, in case you're wondering. The extent of the offense was basically 2B Mickey Lopez (HR, .278) and DH Ryan Christianson (HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, .263) both logging two hits, including a home run each. Reader Paul Covert, who was at the game, notes that Christianson's home run was to the opposite field, which is a good sign. RF Hiram Bocachica (.288) and C Pat Borders (2 RBI, .234) both made their returns to the lineup, Borders getting a hit and Boca going oh-for. RHP Clint Nageotte tomorrow.

San Antonio 4, El Paso 3 (ARI)
RHP Juan Done (5.32, E, W) had a good outing, going seven innings and allowing three runs on six hits, a hit batter, and a walk against seven strikeouts. RHP Emiliano Fruto (6.02) went the next inning, striking out two, and then RHP Rick Guttormson (3.83, S) recorded a save on two out after walking and striking out a batter. I guess it was rain. LF Dustin Delucchi (2B, R, RBI, CS, .288) and RF Shin-Soo Choo (.308 ) both had two hits, and 1B John Lindsey (2B, RBI, .298) had another double. LHP Phil Devey tomorrow.

Stockton 1 (TEX), Inland Empire 4
LHP Troy Cate (0.00) started and went two good innings, giving up a hit and striking out four. RHP Tanner Watson (4.95, W) went the next three and two thirds innings and gave up a run on five hits, a hit batter, a wild pitch, and a walk against a strikeout. RHP Darwin Soto (3.80) went the next two and a third innings, giving up two hits and two walks, then RHP Mike Steele (8.44, S) closed the deal with a walk, a wild pitch, and a strikeout. Lots of doubles tonight, coming from CF Gary Harris (2B, 2 RBI, .265), 2B Juan Gonzalez (2B, .303), RF Josh Ellison (2B, 2 R, RBI, .429), who had two hits, and SS Erick Monzon (2B, R, .286). RHP Greg Wear tomorrow, or maybe LHP Ryan Rowland-Smith, or someone else entirely (RHP Jon Huber?)

Wisconsin 6, Battle Creek 2 (NYY)
LHP Jason Mackintosh (3.17, W) started this one out superbly, going eight innings and allowing two runs on six hits while striking out eight. Neither RHP Kenly Chang (4.93), who gave up two hits, nor LHP Casey Abrams (9.68), who walked a batter, could get an out in the ninth, but RHP Mike Hrynio (4.18, S) dug them out with a couple of strikeouts and didn’t allow any of the runs to score. The offense was SS Adam Jones (2 HR, 5 RBI, .265) and his two jacks, though 3B Chris Collins (.248) had a couple of hits, and RF Chris Colton (3B, R, .251) and LF Wladimir Balentien (2B, .277) both showed some power. LHP Thom Oldham tomorrow?

Everett 7, Boise 5 (CHC)
RHP Jason Snyder (5.63) went four innings and gave up three earned runs on six hits (HR), a wild pitch, and four walks against two punchouts. RHP Phil Cullen (2.05, W) went the next three and two-thirds, giving up three hits and two walks while striking out two. RHP Mark Lowe (0.00, S) gave up a hit and an unearned run over the final four outs. On offense, C Brian Schweiger (2 R, CS, 2 PB, .368) tried to compensate for his base-running and defensive gaffes with three hits, while LF Casey Craig (2B, R, RBI, CS, .309) had two hits (and two walks), as did SS Oswaldo Navarro (4 RBI, .266), minus a walk. 2B Asrdubal Cabrera (2B, R, SB, 2 E, .281) and DH Mike Wilson (HR 2 R, 2 RBI, .275) both showed some power as well. RHP Ruben Flores tomorrow.
